Lodge Meetings.
Our home ground is the Shirley Woolmer Masonic Hall, Church Road Sidcup DA14 6BX where we hold our end of season installation meeting on the 3rd Saturday in April with further 3 regular meetings/fixtures being held on the 2nd Saturday in September; 1st Saturday in November; and 4th Saturday in January.
A lodge on tour: outside of the April Installation meeting, following each regular meeting, the West Kent rugby lodge 9998 aims to dine at local Rugby club within the Kentish area then proceed to join the club and its supporters in taking in a home game of Rugby. On occasions this may result in an “away fixture”, the details of which will be published in the advance in the “match day” summons (programme of events) highlighting any change of venue details for the formal lodge meeting. Community
The West Kent rugby lodge 9998 is a modern Lodge with a commitment to openness and community engagement. The Lodge aims to forge long lasting relationships with a range of local rugby clubs and institutions across county of Kent supporting local causes in the promotion and celebration of the commonality and ideals shared between the rugby fraternity and Freemasonry; The fellowship of man and the bond of brotherhood. Much like Freemasonry the Lodge members see rugby as a force for good within our communities, particularly with respect to building character for young people as it installs a sense of fair play and justness; integrity and honesty; team work and cooperation, many themes which Freemasonry later builds upon.
Membership
Membership of the West Kent Rugby Lodge 9998 is open to all men over the age of 18 who are of good character. We welcome men from all walks of life, backgrounds, and occupations as we have a diverse membership from a cross section of our community. Freemasonry means different things to different people. For some of our members it is a chance to meet new people, form new friendships, and enjoy social events. For others, it’s about taking an active part in supporting deserving causes and getting more involved in the local community. For other members it is about the unique challenges and opportunities for persona l growth and development which Freemasonry poses; whatever attracts us, we are all united in having FUN!
