Lodge Meetings.

Our home ground is the Shirley Woolmer Masonic Hall, Church Road Sidcup DA14 6BX where we hold our end of season installation meeting on the 3rd Saturday in April with further 3 regular meetings/fixtures being held on the 2nd Saturday in September; 1st Saturday in November; and 4th Saturday in January.

A lodge on tour: outside of the April Installation meeting, following each regular meeting, the West Kent rugby lodge 9998 aims to dine at local Rugby club within the Kentish area then proceed to join the club and its supporters in taking in a home game of Rugby. On occasions this may result in an “away fixture”, the details of which will be published in the advance in the “match day” summons (programme of events) highlighting any change of venue details for the formal lodge meeting. Community

The West Kent rugby lodge 9998 is a modern Lodge with a commitment to openness and community engagement.  The Lodge aims to forge long lasting relationships with a range of local rugby clubs and institutions across county of Kent supporting local causes in the promotion and celebration of the commonality and ideals shared between the rugby fraternity and Freemasonry; The fellowship of man and the bond of brotherhood. Much like Freemasonry the Lodge members see rugby as a force for good within our communities, particularly with respect to building character for young people as it installs a sense of fair play and justness; integrity and honesty; team work and cooperation, many themes which Freemasonry later builds upon.

Membership

Membership of the West Kent Rugby Lodge 9998 is open to all men over the age of 18 who are of good character. We welcome men from all walks of life, backgrounds, and occupations as we have a diverse membership from a cross section of our community. Freemasonry means different things to different people.  For some of our members it is a chance to meet new people, form new friendships, and enjoy social events. For others, it’s about taking an active part in supporting deserving causes and getting more involved in the local community. For other members it is about the unique challenges and opportunities for persona l growth and development which Freemasonry poses; whatever attracts us, we are all united in having FUN! Charity

Freemasonry has a long standing and well established tradition with respect to charitable giving with the Masonic Charitable Fund (MCF) being one of the largest grant giving organisations in the UK. The West Kent rugby lodge 9998 maintains these traditions with charity being a cornerstone of the Lodge.  The Lodge holds a particular interest in supporting grassroots rugby and widening participation in the sport; our charity steward and members are always looking out for opportunities whereby we are able to support rugby in the community.  [If you think we could assist your team/organisation please contact us here].

WEST KENT 2026 FESTIVAL

The West Kent 2026 Festival is first, and foremost, about trying to support the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities. This is what freemasons do so well. However, the future of freemasonry in general, and, more specifically, the ability of the Province of West Kent to deliver a successful festival – is, put simply, about the strength and activity of our membership going forward.

For that reason, and with the undeniable demographic issue that all Provinces face – West Kent is keen to lead the way around modernity, organisation, and the relevance of the Craft to the next generation of Freemasons We look, confidently, to all the energetic and committed members in West Kent to ensure, and deliver, a successful Festival for 2026. No generation has lived in certain times – our parents and grandparents will tell us that. We too live in a most uncertain world where resources and funding are always under the utmost scrutiny – and, as always, this can impact on the very weakest and most deserving in our communities. The purpose of West Kent’s 2026 Festival Appeal is simple – to come to the aid of those that need our assistance most and have been forsaken in their time of need by others.

We are proud to take up that challenge – and will not be found wanting.
